The answer in your case is, yes. You are already sitting on a goldmine of stories that will not cost you any money to access, harness and capitalise on. What you will need to invest is a bit of time, trust, hope and commitment to streamlining your marketing, employee engagement, customer service and community outreach strategies around your story, and to be willing to listen to others’.

Will I be one in a million?
The opposite is, in fact, true: I work with a very limited number of clients, who must be a good fit with my personal vision, mission and values. With over 20 years doing this work in one way or another, discernment is one of my strengths.
How much does having you on-board actually cost?
My support is a capped monthly rate that is roughly half the amount of paying a London-based PR agency to do 3 days work (work that in fact requires you to do most of the hard graft).
My day rate is less than a senior copywriter and yet I would cost way more than you could probably afford as a full time employee at my level. I can go into all this in more detail when we speak.
How long will it take?
As you will know, one-off workshops, 121 coaching/mentoring in silo and the odd Away Day rarely yield impactful, inclusive, cost-effective and memorable results.
So, we will commit to working together for a year, on said monthly retainer basis.
In this time, miracles can and will happen, I promise.
I work for you, and only you, for 4 days a month (aka 1 day a week / 42 days a year) and never have more than 3 clients at a time.
The other day a week I run Better Bolder Braver helping coaches that may well also be able to help you.
“Life” makes up the fifth day of my week.
You and I will constantly review our work together and, if it is something you want or need, we can generate sexy reports. However, I personally prefer time spent Doing rather than Documenting, Anecdotal Analysis over Formal Feedback, but I do confess to loving a spreadsheet and I will insist we put one together if I think it’s what you need.
If you start to talk about SEO, I will humour you briefly.
If I think you need something, I’ll say.
If you just need a cup of tea, we can do that.
If we feel it’s not working, we can talk.
What will we actually do together, like day-to-day?
Initially, we will do an “I’d love it if…. Exercise - potentially on a nice walk. Together, we will get some agreed clarity about your Vision, Mission, Who, What and Why. This will be your Working Manifesto.
Next up, we will dive into your Heritage Story. Firstly, this is an intimate conversation with you, the Founder (or CEO - if you are in charge of something that was started a while ago, by someone else).
After that, we might consult some others. You will decide who is at your Round Table.
We then prioritise where to spend my time with you - on your Marketing, your People (employees or customers) or your Community Engagement strategies.
We will look at additional budgets for external training and capacity building, rewarding, coaching, sponsorship and charitable support. And don’t fear - I can help you find the right people for the job, at mates rates all round… If there is no more budget for now, we will work creatively and carefully with what and who we have.
We will create an “action plan” (that we can always pivot on quickly) that will become your Story of Change - together.
You will present this to your Round Table, in whatever way you and I think is useful, and to your other Very Important People, and then we can start to roll out your Heritage Story and Story of Change to the world.
I design with you the time I spend “in and on” your business - with you, your staff, your customers, your community.... Whomsoever is required to be involved in getting the best story to make you stand out.
We might have intimate conversations on and offsite (I look forward to inviting you to Soho House in London or Brighton for some creative thinking time), team workshops, time in nature if you like and even quick calls. As you wish.
